TERMA ANTARA FULL BLOOD , PURE BLOOD , KACUKAN
Ramai penternak yang baru berjinak-jinak dengan penternakan kambing masih tidak dapat membezakan dua terma yang sering disebut-sebut : Fullblood dan Purebred. Perkara ini sangat penting dan perlu dijelaskan supaya penternak baru tidak mudah ditipu ketika membeli dan memilih kambing.
Full-Blood : Merujuk kepada haiwan yang 100% baka tulen tanpa ada kacukan dengan baka lain. Ini boleh dibuktikan dengan sijil kelahiran/pedigree daripada badan-badan/institusi yang diiktiraf. Ciri-ciri fizikal juga dapat digunakan untuk memastikan samada kambing yang dipilih adalah benar-benar ‘full-blood’.
Pure-Bred : Merujuk kepada haiwan yang mempunyai lebih 85% darah dari baka tulen. Masih mengekalkan kebanyakan ciri-ciri fizikal dari baka tulen. Amat sukar untuk membezakan antara baka ‘full-blood’ dan ‘pure-bred’ tetapi ciri-ciri seperti warna bulu, lengkungan tanduk dan telinga boleh digunakan untuk membezakannya .
Kacukan : Kedua-dua ciri dari induk jantan dan betina berlainan baka dapat dilihat pada anak yang lahir.

Buck: Male Goat

Doe: Female Goat
Doeling: Young female goat
Buckling: Young male goat
Kid: Newborn Goats
Male offspring : Anak Jantan
Female offspring : Anak Betina
Wether: Castrated male goat
Capretto: Meat that comes from kids
Chevon: Meat that comes from adult goats
Colostrum: The first milk that any animal (including humans)
produce after they give birth. This milk helps to pass along the
mother’s immunity to disease to her offspring.
Polled: Breeds of goats naturally born without horns.
Ruminant: a hoofed animal that digests its food in two steps: first by eating the raw material and regurgitating a semi-digested form known as cud, then chewing the cud (a process called ruminating). Ruminants have four stomachs and include cows, goats, sheep, llamas, bison, buffalo, elk and deer.
Debudding: Removing the horns just as they are starting to grow. Most dairy goat farmers remove the horns at an early age for the sake of safety for both people and other animals.
